Our story
From one bench in Bangsar
Ravel opened in 2009 above a coffee roaster on Jalan Telawi, with a single cutting table and a stubborn idea: that Kuala Lumpur deserved genuine bespoke, not made-to-measure dressed up in its clothing.
Fifteen years on we have grown by exactly two pairs of hands. That is deliberate. Keeping the house small is the only way to guarantee that the cutter who measures you is the cutter who drafts, bastes and finishes your garment. Nothing is sent offshore, nothing is batch-produced.
Our work is fully canvassed — a floating layer of horsehair and cotton hand-padded into the chest and lapel so the jacket moulds to you over time rather than sagging away from you. It is slower. It is also the difference you feel every time you put the jacket on.

Principles we will not trade away
Honest counsel
If a cloth is wrong for the tropics or a style will date badly, we will say so. Repeat clients are worth more to us than a single large invoice.
Made to last
Full canvas, generous inlays and hand finishing mean a Ravel garment can be let out, taken in and re-lined for a decade or more.
The hand behind the shears
Craft passed down, not printed out
Our head cutter trained in the Hong Kong and Savile Row tradition before bringing that grammar home to Malaysia.
Every apprentice who joins the bench spends their first year on hand stitching alone — buttonholes, pad stitching and hems — before they are allowed near a pattern. It is an old way of learning, and it shows in the finish.
