Bangsar · Kuala Lumpur · Est. 2009
At Ravel we cut each garment from a fresh paper pattern drafted to your measurements — canvassed, basted and finished by hand over three unhurried fittings.

The House
Ravel began at a single cutting bench in Bangsar and has stayed deliberately small. Every commission passes through the same hands from measurement to final press, so the garment you collect fits the way it did at your last fitting — not a factory average.
We work in full canvas construction, hand-padded lapels and functioning cuffs. No fusing, no shortcuts, no rushing a garment out before it is right.
What we make
From a first business suit to a wedding sherwani, everything is drafted and sewn under our own roof.

Bring us a garment you love and we will re-cut, taper, take in or restore it with the same hand finish as our bespoke work.

We talk through the occasion, your wardrobe and the way you want to feel, then pull cloth and linings from the library.
Thirty-odd measurements become a unique paper pattern — no block sizes, no house average.
You try the garment half-made in a skeleton baste so posture, balance and drape can be corrected on the body.
Hand-padded and pressed, the finished piece is fitted a final time before you take it home.

The cloth library
A fabric should suit your climate as much as your taste. We carry high-twist wools that breathe in Kuala Lumpur heat, crisp cottons for the office and heavier cloths for travel.
In their words
“My wedding suit fit better than anything I have owned. Encik Ravel spotted a dropped shoulder no off-the-rack tailor ever mentioned.”
“Three suits in and I will not go anywhere else. The baste fitting is where the magic happens — you feel it come together.”
“They re-cut two jackets I had given up on and made them look bespoke. Honest advice, no upselling.”
Good to know
Allow six to eight weeks from your first measurement. That covers pattern drafting, a baste fitting and the hand finishing. When a wedding date is fixed, tell us early and we will build a schedule with buffer for a second fitting.
Just yourself, and ideally the shoes you plan to wear with the garment so we can set the trouser length correctly. If you own a jacket that fits well, bring it — it helps us understand what you like.
Fully canvassed two-piece suits begin at RM 2,800 in house cloth. Shirts start at RM 380 with a three-shirt minimum for a first order, so we can perfect the pattern.
Yes. We draft tailored jackets, trousers and shirting for women as readily as for men, on the same bespoke pattern process.
Often, yes. Bring it in and we will assess the cut. We can reproduce its balance while correcting anything that never sat quite right.
Fittings are by appointment so you have the cutter’s full attention. Tell us the occasion and we will find a time.
